WHAT IS OLED?

HOW OLED WORKS ?

 

The secret to OLED is the unique light-emitting diode structure with its electroluminescent layer, a special film made from an organic, carbon-based compound that emits its own light when hit with an electric current. A thin-film transistor (TFT) backplane switches each specific pixel on and off. This configuration enables a thinner, lighter form factor, higher resolution and big, home theater-ready screen sizes.

PICTURE QUALITY :

The brilliance of OLED makes previously impossible performance a reality. The ability to switch off individual pixels renders the blacks truly black, creating an "infinite" contrast ratio. Its exquisite, nuanced colors actually exceed the industry's BT.709 standard, for more natural, lifelike reproduction of all content. OLED provides super-clear action and it can all be appreciated from a virtually unlimited viewing angle.

Despite all of these impressive feats, the TV itself is remarkably slim and around half the weight of previous-generation displays. And the self-illuminating OLED screen uses less power than any other display technology.


4 color pixel :

LG's advanced 4 Color Pixel technology adds an unfiltered, white sub-pixel to the traditional red, green and blue. The result? A brighter picture with a wider range of colors and superior color accuracy.

VIEWING ANGLE : 

The dynamic curve of the LG OLED screen is quite different from flat screens, meaning that anyone seated within the generous viewing angle can appreciate the superior depth, contrast, color and immersive experience of this unique television.

"INFINITE" CONTRAST :

As the first display technology that allows self-lighting pixels to switch on and off individually, OLED offers the first "Infinite" contrast ratio. Contrast ratio measures the range from the brightest whites on the screen to the darkest blacks. Higher is better, and "Infinite" has been impossible� until now. The deep blacks will seem to melt away, for a greater sense of realism and depth on all content.

 

MOTION CLARITY :

The critical response time of LG OLED TV--its ability to refresh the image on screen--is less than .1ms (microseconds), drastically faster than LED TV. So expect even the fastest action to be dependably crystal clear and virtually blur-free.
